Expatriate Self-Assessment

THREATS or OPPORTUNITIES?
How a person handles the stress of change and brings balance and meaning to their life, is one of the principal indicators of how they will adjust to a different culture and business environment. The inventory is a culture general self assessment instrument that measures one’s ability to deal with the universal aspects of culture shock and cultural adjustment. The outcome does not predict success or failure, but rather after examining personal assets and liabilities in the intercultural arena, forms a springboard to further skill acquisition.

CORNERSTONES
The objective of the cross cultural adaptability self assessment is :

  • to understand the factors and qualities which can enhance cross cultural effectiveness.
  • to allow participants to compare expectations and open up an anticipation dialogue.
  • to identify potential problems and their implications.
  • to gain insight regarding qualities in which one is strong and those that need improvement.
OUTLINE OF PROGRAM DELIVERY
  • The candidate is instructed on the confidential character of the program.
  • The self scoring assessment is followed up by a debriefing.
  • An action Planning Guide assists the participants to formulate solutions and suggests activities to strenghten or acquire skills within the four dimensions of intercultural effectiveness.
  • A workbook exploring cultural identity and ways to improve intercultural interaction, acts as a resource guide for future reference.
FEE STRUCTURE
Fees vary depending on size of group, number of trainers and duration of the training. All quotations are excluding MwSt. Travel expenses or conference facilities are charged seperately.

As a stand-alone tool, the self assessment program has a minimum duration of half a day.

As an integral part of our "Culture Generics" or intercultural team building program.

HOW DOES IT WORK?
The personal resources are grouped into the dimensions that home in on Emotional Resilience, Flexibility & Openness, Perceptual Acuity and Personal Autonomy The participants calculate their own scores on the dimensions and their personal profile is with their individual score forms the basis for a feedback discussion with the family therapist.
